March 4, 2010I got some seriously CUTE knit hats and cocoons from Flower Girl Designs (check out her shop!) and it was finally warm enough outside in my garage to do a test run with one of the hats yesterday! My little gal is SO full of personality! I love all her little faces!

I agree, each expression just gets cuter! I think my favorite is #3 or maybe 4. The hat pulled down a litte lower, those lips, that look in her eyes…that’s what’s nice about #3.

Calista Is 11! | Kingman Child Photographer
March 1, 2010Calista celebrated her 11th birthday just a few weeks ago, so I decided that we needed to do a fun urban shoot for her 11 year old pictures (as if I don’t have tons of pictures of my girl already). lol I really wanted to incorporate some fun colors and try some new locations out…and I love how these came out! Can’t believe how grown up she is looking!
Going for a Twilight look here…something different!
And because life isn’t all serious, my favorites from out session…these are definitely her!
One last shot to add…this was taken in a dry lake bed near our town that had actually flooded with all of the rain we’ve been having. Love the sense of solitude from this one. As a side note, this cost me $5 and a large bag of skittles…I mean really, who wants to lay in the mud in a sundress in February? She’s SUCH a good sport!

Miss Millie In a Winter Pecan Orchard | Kingman Child Photographer
February 28, 2010First off, let me say that I deleted and re-typed Kingman BABY Photographer and Kingman CHILD Photographer several times before settling on ‘child’…my little girl is growing up! *sniff* She’ll be 2 in June, and is such a sweetheart! I’ve been wanting to take some new photographs of her lately, but keep putting it off as she’s at SUCH a tough age. She generally likes to run away and look at anything but the camera. :) Today I decided to take her out and try to get a few shots…whatever she was up for. It was pretty cold and windy, so this was short, but I think I got a few cute pictures of my sweet girl. :) Most of these feature ‘Puppy’ aka her teddy bear that we thought was a puppy when she first got it, but by the time we realized it was a bear, she had already named it ‘Puppy’…and let me tell you, they are literally attached at the hip. :)

I emailed her again about a week ago asking her if she’d had her baby. I *knew* this was going to be a beautiful baby and I wanted to be the one to take her first portraits. :) I definitely wasn’t disappointed…little Gabriella is more beautiful than words can describe…the perfect sweet new baby girl. I’ve been doing these shots since Octavia was a newborn. It’s so fun for me to see her growth throughout this series! The earlier pictures in the series can be seen HERE. She is so full of personality!
And totally off topic, but I wanted to share this one while I’m posting too. I had a Victorian style white dress made for Calista…I have some really neat ideas that incorporate this dress into my work that I want to try out. I took it out for a quick test run the other day, and can’t wait to do more!

Sweet Baby Lexi | Kingman Baby Photographer
February 3, 2010I first met little Lexi when she was about 2 months old. We got a very cute shot of her with her 2 big brothers that day! This time, it was all about Lexi! She’s now 4 months old and the most adorable little red head you have ever seen. She has an infectious smile and beautiful blue eyes.

The Oldest of 8 | Kingman Child Photographer
January 17, 2010I’ve been wanting to get Clint out there for some pictures, but I’m usually met with some pretty stiff protest. So…I whipped out my mommy bribery (a 2 hour computer turn) and finally got my way. I’m so glad I did! I don’t get him in front of my camera too often, and that’s unfortunate…definitely something to work on in the new year!
Here is my oldest, Clint. He’ll be 13 this coming summer. :)
I can’t decide whether I prefer the color or the b&w of this next shot, so I’m posting them both here. haha

Little Miss O On My New Barnwood ‘Floor’ | Kingman Baby Photographer
January 13, 2010Are you guys getting sick of seeing Octavia yet? I like to keep my skills in tune during the slow season, and she’s still immobile, so she’ll probably be making a lot of appearances here this winter! I got a new ‘floor’ for my studio work and had to test it out today. I really like it so far! Who would know that it’s a giant rubber mat?
And a pullback for my photographer friends! One day, I would *love* to have a real natural light studio, but for now, I’m thankful that I get excellent light in my garage. Whatever works, right? Anyways, this was my setup for the above shots! Sorry for the lack of a cute smiling baby, but she had had enough by the time I thought to take this. She’d had enough by the time I thought throwing cool dried leaves all over the floor would look cool too…darn it!
Coming back to this one to add just *one* more…I drug her out again today because the leaf shot was eluding me! Haha! She’s such a good girl, it was COLD and windy today, and not one complaint out of her! Just more smiles!

In Daddy’s Hands – A Progression | Kingman Baby Photographer
January 11, 2010I’ve been taking these shots of Octavia in Daddy’s hands since she was a wee little 13 day old newborn. I’ve been trying to do them at semi-regular intervals to show her growth and changes. It’s *amazing* to me how a new baby changes their first year of life. I hope these photos help document that in Octavia!

January 10, 2010This is ‘Part 2′ to the photos I posted the other day of Miss Octavia. I wanted to get some more of her, but we can only do a few minutes of shooting at a time. It is cold in my garage, even by Arizona’s standards!

Ok, wow your work is blowing me away! I started and the top and just drooled all way down your blog. This last shot is just divine! Well, and so were all the others. :) Great work!
I’ve been so busy with the holidays, kids, and client sessions that I really haven’t had much time to do a ‘real’ session with my own baby who is changing at a rather alarming rate these days! I had intended to do some nice photos of her in honor of her turning 6 months, but missed that boat by a few weeks. So here she is, at six and a HALF (yes, the half is very important! lol) months old. This was still a mini-session for all intents and purposes, but I’m happy with the pictures that I got. They really show her personality!
These ’studio’ pictures were actually taken in my rather cold garage! No fear, I threw the blanket in the dryer for a good 10 minutes before doing this, and she was happy as can be! I think I took pics for a grand total of about 1-2 minutes before we whisked her back inside. It’s January, even in Arizona, that’s cold on little bare baby buns!
Her little laugh here cracks me up! I adore this picture, because it is *so* her!
Color? Or B&W? Well, I like both, well enough to post both. :P
These next 2 were taken out at one of my new favorite places to shoot…a local orchard! The owner was kind enough to give me permission to use it whenever I want, and I plan to make good use of it! 99% of the trees out there are completely barren right now, but can you believe, that in January, I was still able to find some fall colors? Only in Arizona, I’m tellin’ ya!

Well, gosh, she’s just beautiful. It’s amazing how much they are themselves already at this age, isn’t it? I have big memories from 8 months old and it’s true, I was “me” just the same as I am “me” now. Only I didn’t have the words to share that.

Love these! I visited my mom & gram in AZ between Christmas & NYE and was glad I took my coat! I’m sorry, but 50-55 degress is NOT warm in AZ. It’s chilly! Better than 30 degrees, but still. ;)

January 1, 2010I broke my self imposed ‘winter break’ today to do Toni’s senior pictures, and I am *so* glad that I did! I’ve really been wanting to break into the senior market…I have so much fun doing these sessions.
Toni, I had an absolute blast with you guys today! Not only are you drop dead gorgeous (makes my job EASY!), but you were so much fun to work with. I am having the hardest time narrowing these pictures down, and hence, you are getting a rather large sneak peek. I hope you love these, and I can’t wait to finish up the rest of them for you guys!
