This past weekend, I had the chance to photograph another of my Mother’s Day Photo contest babies…this little gal was the #1 winner of my contest! She is photo #3 here. It was so fun meeting you guys and little ‘Poop’…she is a doll!

I can honestly say that these are some of my absolute favorite clients. Baby Lucienne was one of my very first sessions in my photography career…I photographed her as a newborn and as a 6 month old. I was blessed to photograph her again yesterday, at 14 months old. She keeps getting more and more beautiful, and is the sweetest, smartest little girl ever. She can speak French, I kid you not!

Dino and Ronne, thank you SO much for coming to me again and trusting me with your precious little girl’s photos. I love all of you and hope you enjoy your sneak peek! I’ll get the rest of them finished up this week for you. :)

Last weekend, I finally got to shoot my brother in law and his family! I’ll keep this short and sweet…hope you guys like them! Love you! :)

I had a wonderful session photographing this family for Christmas. I hope you guys love these, you all were so much fun to work with!

I had a session with a wonderful family last weekend, they were so much fun! Here is your sneak peek guys, hope you enjoy!

Last weekend, I had the chance to photograph these three beautiful girls. They were so much fun, and made my job look easy! I wanted to share a few of my favorite shots.

I had my very first repeat client this weekend, sweet baby Lucienne! She has grown so much since I saw her last, when she was a newborn. She is seriously the most beautiful baby, and so so sweet! Full of smiles and personality! I had so much fun doing these!

What a fun session! We had a little bit of everything mother nature could throw at us…T-storms, lightning, WIND, dust storms, rainbows…you name it, it made an appearance in these photos! I really love how these came out!

I wanted to share a few photos I did of some of my own children…some new favorites here for sure.

Clint got peed on twice doing these, and yep, I now owe him money. lol But only $7.50. Well worth it, don’t you think?

I had to pay them $3 a piece for these shots…I think I got off cheap!

And so the truth comes out…haha!

And something I don’t share often…no fancy studio, no expensive backdrops. Just me, my very average DSLR, my garage, and some seamless paper. You don’t *need* expensive to take beautiful photographs.

I had the best session with a sweet family yesterday! They were all the way down here from Utah and made time to get their family portraits done and portraits of their little boy who will be turning 4 in just a few weeks. I hope you enjoy these Becca!

I had the chance yesterday to photograph Charli and his wonderful family! What a sweet little guy he was…I had so much fun on this session! I hope you guys love the pics!

I am fully convinced I’m the luckiest photographer there is…I get the cutest and sweetest little ones to take pics of! After being rained out of our session on Sunday, we made another go for it on Monday afternoon, and it couldn’t have gone better! Check out these 2 sweethearts!

Is she not the cutest thing you have ever seen? Seriously, the CUTEST!! No contest! I hope you like these Danielle! It was so good to see you guys again!

Wow, I had the wonderful privilege of photographing Jennifer and Bryan Masche’s adorable children this weekend! What luck, eh? =D It’s amazing how distinct all of their personalities were…everyone definitely has their own way of doing things. They did have one thing in common though…they are all absolutely adorable, and keep their parents on their toes!

When you are in need of a cute group shot of SIX 2 year olds, lollipops will become your best friend and the best money you ever spent. lol

From left to right; Molli, Cole, Savannah, Grant, Bailey, and Blake

And a few individuals…

So, I drug my BIG crew out to the hot dismal garage the other day (it’s July in Arizona) and decided that I was up to the challenge of getting a nice group shot! Surprisingly, they were all SO good for me! I’m sure the promise of ice cream at the end of the torture session helped some, but hey, the end results makes me smile.

So here they are! They are pretty darn good looking kiddos, if I do say so myself.

She’s here!!

My condensed birth story: I had been having 5-6 contractions an hour all day long Tuesday. By 6pm-ish, they were getting to the point where they were pretty regular, but still 7-8 minutes apart. They quickly progressed and by 7:30ish, they were coming every 2-3mins. I drove myself to the hospital at this point (my husband stayed home to get the kids into bed, and to see if this was actually it or a false alarm).

The contractions continued at the hospital. They monitored me for about an hour and I was about 3cm. My doctor came in and broke my water at about 10. It was a whirlwind from there. I went in and sat down on the toilet because my stomach was upset, and honestly, it felt better to sit there. I was amazed (and slightly concerned) with how quickly these were becoming unbearably painful. I’ve never had a super fast labor before so I really didn’t know what to think. I sat my hiney on the toilet for about half an hour. I had let my doctor know that I wanted an epidural…been there done that with the natural childbirth thing and had no desire to experience it again. He came and knocked on the bathroom door about 10:30 and asked if I was okay (I was slightly embarrassed), so I drug my IV pole and all of my attachments (and very much in pain body) back into the room.

My husband was on his way so I asked if he could wait to do the epidural until he got there. He literally walked in a minute later, so my doctor put the epidural in. I was concerned because it didn’t seem to be working for some reason. I could feel everything on the left side of my body. My doctor had me roll to that side to see if it would help. Instead of getting better, the pain was exponentially intensifying, and suddenly, I felt that pressure down there. I freaked out…I was in shock…it couldn’t happen this quickly!

Before I knew it, I literally felt her head…I screamed for them to get back in there because her head was coming out! Sure enough, she was ready to be born. Not 30mins after exiting the bathroom (lol), Octavia Susan was born, kicking, screaming, and feisty. She made her grand appearance at 10:58pm, Tuesday, June 23rd. Weight…6lbs10oz, and length…18.7″. Apgars of 9/9. We’re home now and trying to rest up as much as possible…she’s healthy and beautiful.

Lots of photos to share…I’ve been having a little too much fun. Who could resist with a perfect sweet girl to available to take shots of whenever I want?

Her hospital pics…

And some I’ve taken at home. This is too much fun! I just love this little girl *so* much…we are so blessed!

For all of my ILP buddies, my first attempt at ‘the pose’…haha! Since receiving the invaluable advice to have baby ASLEEP while doing this (and not trying to eat Dad’s hand), I’ve had much more success. See the above shots. =P

She must really love her Daddy! All of these shots, so much potential for disaster, and no accidents!

Her first little smile…NOT gas!

Kissy Lips!

Eyes wide open…

Proof that a 1 week old baby CAN smile! She was wide awake!

Mommy & Octavia (it’s rare that I get on the other side of the camera)

I’ve been very blessed with friends who have adorable children! I had the chance to photograph my friend Jodi’s beautiful girls this evening. She is moving out of town soon so I had to jump on this chance before it was gone! Jodi, I am going to miss you! Thank you so much for letting me do this! I wish you and your family all the best in your new home.

This will be pic heavy as I edit these…just a warning!

Ok, so I can never decide. More options are better, right?

I had the privilege of photographing sweet baby Lucienne today! She is an absolute doll and was so much fun to work with. She didn’t want to spend much time sleeping for us (I’m convinced that she just doesn’t want to miss anything ;)), but I did manage to get some sweet sleepy shots as well as some bright-eyed, happy baby girl shots!

Without further ado…

Color…or B&W? I can never decide! So I do both.

This little sweetie spent most of her time, just like this…wide awake! Check out her beautiful eyes!

*LOVE* little baby feet and hands!

Smile baby!

Beautiful family of three…
