Scenic Black and White | I Heart Faces Weekly Photo Challenge
November 30, 2010I always forget to enter these contests until the deadline has passed, but I caught this one just in time. Living in Arizona, we definitely have no shortage of beautiful scenery! I really had a hard time choosing which photo to enter in this contest, but finally settled on this one of my 11 year old daughter in a dry lake bed near our town.
This place is absolutely incredible, and it truly looks like you’ve stepped foot onto another planet. The cracked, dry earth spreads out in every direction as far as the eye can see, bordered by pink, desert moutains on the horizon. I actually took this shot in February, and we had just had a good rain. You can see the puddles and wet, muddy earth combined with the cracks in the ground. It was COLD this day, and yes, I had to compensate her for laying on the cold, wet ground in a sun dress! This shot cost me exactly 1 large bag of skittles, and $5. Totally worth it though, I think!

I Heart Faces Weekly Challenge – In the Orchard | Kingman Arizona Baby Photographer
October 18, 2010I see these contests pop up every week, and I always forget to enter! This week, I caught it at the right time, and am going to put in a photo. This week’s challenge is ‘In the Orchard’…I had the perfect set of photos for this! Octavia’s 1yr photos were taken in a local pecan orchard.
So, without further ado, here’s my I Heart Faces contest entry for this week.
