I’ve been so looking forward to putting together this blog post…it is always so much fun to sit back and reflect on the year while looking forward to the new one ahead. It’s been a wonderful year! We moved into a new house in the mountains in January and finally have room for the kids to run and play (without annoying the neighbors). We get snow and amazing monsoon thunder storms up here, and have room for a big garden and a chicken coop – two things I’ve wanted for a long time. The kids have all grown and are a year older; I now have 1 in high school, 2 in middle school, 3 in elementary school, 2 in preschool, and 1 little sweetie still at home with me. Oh, and we are expecting our 10th in early July and couldn’t be more excited! My photography business is going well and I’ve added mentoring and editing classes to my repertoire this year. I’m currently writing my first e-book on working with natural light and can’t wait to share that! I’ve made some wonderful friends this year, witnessed (and photographed) a dear friend’s birth, taken some amazing road trips, and enjoyed my big family. All in all, it’s been a great year. :) Before you check this year’s favorites, be sure to take a look back at my 2011 Year In Review…I do hope that I’ve shown some growth in the last 12 months. I taught myself how to use OCF so that was a big step forward for me this year. It is always fun challenging yourself and learning new things!
Next year I hope to do more of the same – shoot what I love, further refine the techniques I’ve been working on, make new friends, watch my children grow, and have a new baby. I cannot wait! Thank you all so much for your loyalty and support. I know there are a lot of choices when it comes to custom photography, and it means the world to me that so many of you have chosen to come back to me as repeat clients. I take a lot of pride in what I do and put my heart and soul into every session that I shoot. I can’t wait to see what 2013 brings.
Here is a collection of my favorite images from 2012. These are in a completely random order and are a mix of client and personal images. I’m an over-sharer so get a cup of hot cocoa and set aside a few minutes to see all of them. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all of you!
