As a Las Vegas Child Photographer, I love photographing my own sweet kids whenever I have some free time! I wanted to share some of my favorite images of them from late summer through autumn. We had some amazing times together and have created some beautiful images! This is going to be a long one, so sit back, grab a cup of coffee, and enjoy!
All of my babies together – no easy feat especially now that the oldest 2 have grown up and moved out! We did a family photo also, but I’ve since lost over 30 of Sylvie’s pregnancy pounds, so yep – we’ll be re-doing that soon!
The last of the summer wildflowers…
Sylvie is modeling some adorable new knitwear for the Feltman Brothers here. How cute is she?
Fall is here! It is one of my favorite times of the year!
Our new puppy, Yeti Spaghetti. Yes, he really is a puppy – only about 5 months old in this photo. He is HUGE!
This was such a crazy day! The fall images were taken in the mountains that we live in. It was SO cold. Sylvie didn’t last long and was over it! We decided to drive into town (about 10 minutes from where we had been shooting) where it was probably 20 degrees warmer with some very late summer wildflowers still clinging to life. She was much happier picking flowers in the warmth!
My oldest daughter, Calista, has the sweetest boyfriend. His name is Tyler and they met last summer lifeguarding together at the local pool. Now they attend the same college. I truly couldn’t have asked for a nicer boy for my sweet girl. We just love him!
More fall images of my babies…I won’t tell you what we were saying to get these laughs!
Calista and Elliott have the sweetest relationship. He has missed her SO much this year since she left for college. He was so happy to have his buddy and big sister back for a few days!
Gabriel and Sylvie have the sweetest bond. I love photographing them together!
The next 3 images are of my 11 year old son, Adrian. He’s turning out to be a great little model!
Sylvie is modeling an adorable Christmas dress by the Feltman Brothers here! Already employed at just a year old!
These next few images were nothing short of magical good luck. We headed to this location with plans to shoot the kids on the old rope swing that hung from one of the ancient cottonwood trees there. When we arrived, a mother donkey and her baby were there for a drink of water. They were likely some of the regulars in the old west town of Oatman. They were very friendly and interested in what we were doing. The photography gods were smiling on me that day and I got a couple one in a million shots of my kids interacting with the donkeys. I’ve been asked many times if the shot of Sylvie kissing the mother donkey is Photoshop – NOPE. It’s 100% real. A split second moment that somehow, I was lucky enough to capture. It is now one of my favorite photos ever!
This photo of Millie swinging is actually an image stitch of nearly FIFTY images. These trees were huge! You can see the mama donkey and her baby in the background here. I’ve also been told I surely must have Photoshopped in donkeys from another photo. They couldn’t be more wrong!
Boys and dirt are two pretty much inseparable entities.
While driving home from the donkey/rope swing shoot, we noticed these interesting rock formations in the distance and thought it would be the perfect setting for a little cowboy camp out shoot. Gabriel and Elliott made the cutest little cowboys and had a blast doing these photos!
In late fall, the local cotton fields are ready for harvest. I couldn’t resist a few photos – what a neat location!
I even got a few ‘big camera’ photos of Theron this year!
Fall lasts a LONG time in the desert. It starts as early in September in the higher elevations and lasts all the way into December and even January sometimes in the hotter, lower elevations. These next few images were taken in late November in one of my favorite spots!
Sylvie is modeling another Christmas dress and bonnet for the Feltman Brothers here. Doesn’t she look like a little doll? There is nothing cuter than a baby in a bonnet!
CHD (congenital heart disease) has been a part of our lives ever since Sylvie’s birth in April of 2016. I have done an ongoing series of photos highlighting her battle against this disease and her strength throughout it all. I hope that we can do our small part to help make people more aware of how common CHD is and how desperately underfunded the research into it is! 1 in 100 babies are born with a heart defect and many of these babies require life saving surgery very early on in life. Sylvie had her open heart surgery at just 3 months old. Today, she is kicking butt and taking names! She is a smart, happy, energetic, loving, and sweet little girl. We are so thankful for the doctors and nurses who helped ensure she would have this life to live! She has enriched our family so very much.
Anyone who photographs toddlers knows how tough it can be. They are only interested in doing their own thing and are not yet old enough for bribery. Sylvie is definitely at that stage too and shooting her is completely hit or miss. Most of the time, I’m lucky to get 1 or 2 shots before she revolts. This little shoot, however, was different. She felt SO pretty in her green Christmas dress! Her face just lit up when she saw herself wearing it in the mirror. We took her downtown for a few photos and she was so happy! She was waving at everyone who passed and telling them ‘hi’ and ‘bye.’ She sat herself down on this step and was grinning ear to ear for me. I could tell she felt like a pretty little princess!
Sweet Gabriel…could this boy be any more handsome?
Calista was home from college for Christmas so I had all my girls together! I did a photo of them together last December and thought it would be fun to re-create it exactly a year later. We shot in the same location, same type of lighting (light overcast), same dresses, same posing, and even the same post-processing. It’s so fun seeing how much they’ve all grown and changed! You can check out the December 2016 version of this image HERE.
If you’ve made it this far, thank you for looking! I cannot wait to see what 2018 brings!
